[Class 26.] The irrigator described in the parent Specification is modified by the provision of a detachable jacket 17 which may be moved relatively to a member 2, in which is formed the outlet channel 11 which communicates with the supply so as to open a valve 13. The jacket 17 is secured by a bayonet joint which permits inversion of the jacket to a sleeve I, which is capable of sliding upon the member 2 into which may be screwed a knob 6 having a pin 7, loosely engaging a claw-like end 3b of a bent rod 3 provided with a handle 4. The end 3b is disposed within, and abuts against a correspondingly shaped end of a recess 3c in the member 2, springs 9, 22, the former disposed between a circular flange 10 on the sleeve 1 and a washer 8 on the knob 6, being provided. When the handles 4, 6 are moved manually together to displace the sleeve 1 or the jacket 17 is itself displaced by contact with the body, the valve 13, which is disposed upon a spindle 12 passing through a member 15 screwed on to the part 2 and having outlet apertures 16, is moved from its seating 14. A rubber &c. pack. ing 21 is disposed between the jacket and a recess of the member 15. The spray is constituted by a series of minute apertures in the jacket wall ; these apertures are inclined upwards and the spray may be directed against a surface such as the inside of the bracket before reaching the part to be treated. The device may be provided in a water closet.
