Abstract

379,225. Fuel-injection pumps. L'ORANGE, P., 130, Cannstatter Strasse, Feuerbach, Stuttgart, Germany. Feb. 11, 1932, No. 4135. Convention date, Sept. 11, 1931. Addition to 377,065. [Class 102 (i).] In a multi-cylinder fuel-injection pump of the type described in the parent Specification, in which the plungers b are rotated by the governor against the action of springs or fluid pressure in order to vary the timing of a relief port controlled by the plunger, provision is made for preventing the return of one or more of the plungers to the zero position, in order to supply sufficient fuel to the engine for slow running. The plungers are rotated by means of a bar l formed with projections engaging the ends of plunger-adjusting levers n. The bar is moved to the left by the governor in order to increase the fuel supply and the plungers are rotated by their springs, to reduce the fuel supply, when the bar is moved to the right. Stops p on a bar o prevent complete return of some of the plungers to the zero position.
