Abstract
378,920. Securing coils for dynamo electric machines. BRITISH THOMSONHOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London, and TAYLOR, H. W., Kilmorie, Old Bilton, Rugby. May 19, 1931, No. 14791. [Class 35.] The cap for securing rotors end winding is shrunk on to the rotor body and has projections which enter a groove in the rotor periphery. In the form shown, the cap 1 has a flange cut away to form projections 5 of the same pitch as the winding slots 6. The slots 6 are closed by wedges which do not reach the rotor surface, and the unwound portions of the rotor periphery have slots 7 of the same pitch as the winding slots. The projections 5 pass through the slots 6, 7 to the groove 8 and the cap is rotated until the projections are out of register with the slots. Keys 10 in the slots 7 may then be driven towards the end of the rotor to bridge the groove 8.
