Coils and conductors; pole-pieces.-In a rotor having coil-holders anchored in the core, keys I are located in the outer heads of the coil-holders 4 and when hammered in pull the coil-holders in a radial direction and tighten the rotor circumference without putting undue pressure on the coils. Filling-pieces 1<1> shaped like the keys may replace the latter over parts of the rotor circumference, for example, over the coils 2, the keys 1 being employed at the rotor poles only. Separate filling-pieces 8 are provided where necessary. The keys may be divided longitudinally and may be secured by screws 6, or by wedges driven in from opposite ends of the rotor.
