Abstract
378,522. Charging Diesel engines. DAIDO, S., 51, Okuono, Naka-gun, Kyotofu, Japan. May 15, 1931, No. 14454. Convention date, Nov. 7, 1930. [Classes 7 (ii) and 7 (iii).] In a two-stroke or a four-stroke Diesel engine on a vehicle, a trumpetshaped pipe 4 collects air, heated by passing over cylinder cooling fins 1 owing to the motion of the vehicle, and diverts it to the cylinder admission ports to charge the engine. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a throttle valve in the pipe 4 and an aperture at the bottom of the pipe through which rain drops can escape. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
