Abstract

378,021. Cable joints. BULLERS, Ltd., 6, Laurence Pountney Hill, London, and MILLER, J. G., The Gables, Trysull, near Wolverhampton. April 30, 1931, No. 12793. [Class 38 (i).] A clamp for an aluminium - steel cable is formed with a bore 2 opening into branch passages 4, 5, a pair of split cones 13, 14 in the bore 2 being pressed together by a cap 10 to grip the exterior of the cable, the steel core being extended into the bore 4 and gripped by a split cone 23 forced into the conical end of the passage 4 by a plug 26. A similar grip 20, 21 for a jumper cable is fitted in the passage 5. The cones 14, 20, 23 are serrated internally and are split alternately from opposite ends. The clamp may be attached to a support by a pin 32 arranged on the axis of the bore 2, and provided with an anti-vibration device. The angles 18, 19 between the bore 2 and passages 4, 5 are rounded off. The central space in the clamp body is filled with cement through a closable opening 29.
