[Class 75 (ii).] A reflector for use in incandescent gas lamps &c. has the form of an inverted V, each limb 2, 3 of which comprises a central plane part 4 and side plane parts 5, 6 which extend upwardly from both inclined edges of the plane part and are inclined away from one another. The reflector is arranged below the source of illumination. As shown in Fig. 2, the inclined limbs 2, 3 are joined to a central part 1. The angle of between the parts 1 and 4 is 35-70‹, and the angle (not shown) between the parts 4 and 5 or 6 is 10-50‹. The reflector may be formed from a single sheet of thin rustless polished steel and is mounted, by means of a sleeve member 7 which is secured to it, on a rod or tube 9. Silvered glass mirrors, clipped on to a frame of the same form as before, may replace the polished steel reflector, as shown in Fig. 5. In this form the two limbs are formed separately and are adjustable in relation to one another about a vertical axis. Each limb has at its upper end an extension 12 formed with two arcuate slots 14, 15, and a cutaway portion 13 to pass over the supporting pipe. Set-screws or thumb-screws 16 passing through the slots screw into a bracket 17, which is split so as to be fitted around the supporting pipe. The form of Fig. 2 may similarly be made adjustable.
