Abstract
.377,756. Embossing &c. presses. CLIFTON, E., CLIFTON & CO., Ltd., W. J., 7, Plough Court, Fetter Lane, London, and RAMSDEN, C., 159, Oldchurch Road, Romford, Essex. May 4, 1931, No. 13130. [Class 100 (ii).] Relates to hand-lever operated embossing, perforating, or like presses of the kind in which a cam element on the lever contacts with an antifriction device on the plunger. In one form, shown in Fig. 2, the hand-lever g is provided with a roller m mounted eccentrically and contacting with a roller h mounted in the plunger d, which is shown 'as carried by a pivoted arm c, but may slide in vertical guides against spring action; the roller m may be replaced by an integral cam. In the form shown in Fig. 3, the antifriction device comprises a disc n mounted on a pin o and ball-race p on the arm c, the cam i on the hand-lever g engaging the disc eccentrically. In another modification the antifriction element is in the form of a pivoted segment mounted in the plunger.
