377,571. Wheel tyres. MICHELIN ET CIE, Clermont Ferrand, Puy de Dome, France. Jan. 25, 1932, No. 2287. Convention date, March 5, 1931. [Classes 144 (i) and 144 (ii).] A pneumatic tyre for railway wheels comprises a tread-band 5 formed with beads 6 to engage in the flanged edges of the wheel rim 1. The rim-flanges may be detachable, Fig. 3, in any case, the rail guideflange being formed on one of the rim-flanges. As shown in Fig. 9, the guide-flange 14 may be fitted with a renewable wearing surface 16. A separate air-tube may be fitted within the rim, or the edges of the tread-band 5 may be provided with rubber lips to form airtight joints with the rim. To prevent complete collapse of the tyre in case of deflation, a ring 10, which may be provided with a rubberfacing, is fitted within the rim.
