[Class 20 (iv).] Plates for wall coverings and panels consist of a middle layer 1 faced on each side with veneer or the like, and provided with longitudinal grooves 5 cut on both sides and opposite each other to form thick portions connected by thinner portions 6, the latter lying within the layer 1. In a modification, the grooves 5 are of equal depth so that the connecting portions 6 lie in the central zone.
