Abstract

377,551. Inductor magnetos. BOSCH AKT.-GES., R., 4, Militõrstrasse, Stuttgart, Germany. Dec. 10, 1931, No. 34221. Convention date, March 24. [Class 35.] An ignition magneto comprises a rotary member c having more than two flux conducting segments q, a stationary armature k having pole shoes m arranged perpendicularly to the axis of rotation of the member c, and a stationary magnet a having pole shoes e extending parallel to said axis of rotation, the pole shoes being so arranged that at any moment only two of the segments form the flux path, the remaining segments being out of action. The number of segments q is equal to half the number of cylinders in the engine with which the magneto is to be used, the magneto shown being adapted for use with an 8-cylinder engine.
