[Class 35] In a magneto with a four-hole revolving magnet wheel consisting of bar magnets disposed on a circle with pole shoes located between them, the ratio of pole shoe length to magnet length is more than three to two. In the form shown, the rotor consists of a brass or aluminium casing 13 cast around the magnets 11 and their pole-pieces 12. The plate 16 secured to the engine casing carries cores with ignition and lighting windings 19, 20 respectively.
