Abstract

377,529. Hack-saws. DOWLING, P., 1, Warren Street, Portobello, Dublin. Nov. 11, 1931, No. 31208. [Class 61 (ii.)] The ends of a hack-saw blade 7 are bent for insertion in inclined slots 9, 10 in holders 5, 6, so that when the blade is under tension the portions 11, 12 of the blade lie flat against the offset holders 5, 6, and the edge of the blade is below the lowest level of the frame 1. The frame 1, which may be adjustable in length as shown at 2, 3, has squared holes 4 to receive the blade holders 5, 6. The handle 15 is squared at 16 to fit the squared shank 17 of the holder 5 which has a washer 18 and thumbscrew 19 for tensioning the blade. The holder 6 is similarly secured by thumb-screw 21 and distance piece 22.
