Abstract
383,080. Saws. BALFOUR, R. A. and HALE, F. H., Capital Steel Works, Wicker, Sheffield. Dec. 4, 1931, No. 33585. [Class 61 (ii).] A hack saw comprises a frame member d and a vertical member a carrying the handle band formed with a slot f to receive the stem of the frame member which is formed with ratchet teeth e engaging with teeth g at the bottom of the slot for securing the frame member in adjustable position when the tensioning attachment c is operated to tension the blade. The member a is preferably built up of sheet metal plates between which filling pieces h are secured by rivets i. Fig. 3 shows a two-handled modification comprising a bar j with two sets of teeth e and two handle members a.
