Abstract
377,040. Straightening bars ; rolling. MASCHINENBAU AKT.-GES. VORM EHRHARDT & SEHMER, Saarbr³cken, Germany. Oct. 23, 1931, No. 29491. Convention date, Feb. 16. [Class 83 (iv).] The narrow edges of flat bars are straightened against a straightening surface m by a number of pressure members d arranged side by side, which are driven by wedges g mounted on a common push rod f and abutting against rollers h on the members, Each pressure member d is engaged by a separate wedge which is adjustable by nuts l, and works between its roller h and a stationary roller k passing through a recess i in the pressure member. The pressure members are retracted by counterweights e. The bars are fed to the apparatus along a roller table and down a shoot and are straightened in piles c. After straightening, the piles are lifted from the bed in turn by plungers and a conveying rack n is applied which lifts them on to and feeds them along a stationary table o. The table has an inclined portion at p so that the foremost bundle tumbles down, the individual bars being manually deposited on to conveying rollers q.
