Abstract

A method of plastering, particularly advantageous in the production of smooth surfaces, consists in spraying a calcium sulphate mix of the accelerated anhydrite type. This type comprises anhydrous calcium sulphate such as natural or burnt anhydrite or hard burnt gypsum, treated with accelerators such as described in Specifications 236,695 and 317,672, [both in Class 22, Cements &c.]. They may further contain hydrated lime, Portland cement or the like and fillers, pigments, resins or fine pumice. Preferably the mix is ground to pass at least a 70-80 mesh sieve, it being especially desirable to pass a 200 mesh sieve. The same production of smooth surfaces may, however, be obtained by incorporating a proportion, e.g. 50 per cent, of a coarse material such as sand, pumice, barytes or cork.
