Abstract

373,384. Suspending pipes. BEAVER, C. J., Bell Place, Stamford Road, FAIRFIELD, T. J., Newlands, Talbot Road, both in Bowdon, Cheshire, LISHMAN, R. C., Norcott, Beechfield Avenue, Flixton, Lancashire, and GLOVER & CO., Ltd., W. T., Trafford Park, Manchester. May 7, 1931, No. 13,534. [Class 99 (ii).] Hooks 1, 2 connected to the ends of a pipe sling 3 are formed with turned-up ends 4, 5. The other ends of the hooks 1, 2 have looped portions 6, 7 respectively, with terminal hook portions 8, 9. In operation, the sling 3 is attached as shown in Fig. 2, the hooks being then crossed and the looped portions 6, 7 brought together. The hooks 8, 9 engage with the loops of the opposite hooks to interlock the hooks 1, 2. In a modified construction, a single hook with inverted U-shaped upper ends is used, the upper ends interlocking by small hooks as in the embodiment.
