Abstract

419,297. Treatment of growing plants. FURLEY, R. G., Clapton Nurseries, Clapton, near Clevedon, Somerset. May 5, 1933, No. 13148. [Class 6 (ii).] In a device for supporting plants of the kind comprising two metal helical coils adapted to encircle an upright or stake, the coils being in association with a wire-ring encircling the plant, the two coils c are positioned one above and one below the plane of the ring b in spaced relation and are interconnected by substantially vertical arms c<1> which also connect the ring b to the coils c. The device may be formed of a single piece of wire which is twisted at d to form the ring. In a modification, the ring wire is interrupted at e and one end is formed with a hook f adapted to engage one of the loops g in the ring. More than one ring may be carried on the same stake. According to the Provisional Specification, the plant ring may be divided and one of the extensions be provided with a hook to engage eyes or loops in the other extension.
