Description

SPECIFICATION Plant pot holding bracket This invention relates to a plant pot holding bracket.
Various types of plant pot holders are wellknown. There are those which are attached to a ceiling and hold a plant pot in a net, basket or cup. There are wall-mounted rackets which support a cup-like container to hold a plant pot. Brackets from which nets, baskets or cups are suspended are also available. Wire clips which hold the lip, flange or base of a conventional plant pot are in current use.
Existing plant pot holders give little or no support to the plant pot. As the plant contained in the pot grows, its centre of balance changes and the plant and the pot fall out of the holder or overbalance the holder itself.
According to the present invention there is provided a wall-mounted bracket from which protrudes horizontally a flattened coil of resilient material into which a suitably sized plant pot can be inserted from above.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows the plant pot holder in perspective.
Figure 2 shows a side elevation of the plant pot holder attached to a vertical surface and containing a plant pot.
Referring to the drawing, the plant pot holding bracket consists of a single piece of resilient strap-like material formed into a coil 10 with the two ends 11 and 1 2 overlapping.
The outmost end 11 is used to attach the bracket to a vertical surface 1 3 causing the coil 10 to protrude horizontally. The plant pot 14 is inserted into the coil 10 where it is firmly gripped beneath the flange 1 5 by the resilience of the coil 10.

2. A plant pot holding bracket as claimed in Claim 1 wherein the resilient coil has sufficient flexibility to contain plant pots of varying sizes.
3. A plant pot holding bracket as claimed in Claim 1 or Claim 2 wherein the resilient coil is able to support a conventional plant pot by its own flange.
4. A plant pot holding bracket as claimed in Claims 1, 2 and 3 wherein by means of the friction created by the resilience of the coil, it is able to support a plant pot of a type other than conventional which does not have a flange or is not conical in shape.

Various types of plant pot holders are wellknown. There are those which are attached to a ceiling and hold a plant pot in a net, basket or cup. There are wall-mounted rackets which support a cup-like container to hold a plant pot. Brackets from which nets, baskets or cups are suspended are also available. Wire clips which hold the lip, flange or base of a conventional plant pot are in current use. Existing plant pot holders give little or no support to the plant pot. As the plant contained in the pot grows, its centre of balance changes and the plant and the pot fall out of the holder or overbalance the holder itself. According to the present invention there is provided a wall-mounted bracket from which protrudes horizontally a flattened coil of resilient material into which a suitably sized plant pot can be inserted from above. 1. A plant pot holding bracket from which protrudes horizontally a flattened coil of resilient material into which a plant pot of a suitable size to cause it to fit snugly into the coil can be inserted from above.
2. A plant pot holding bracket as claimed in Claim 1 wherein the resilient coil has sufficient flexibility to contain plant pots of varying sizes.
3. A plant pot holding bracket as claimed in Claim 1 or Claim 2 wherein the resilient coil is able to support a conventional plant pot by its own flange.
4. A plant pot holding bracket as claimed in Claims 1, 2 and 3 wherein by means of the friction created by the resilience of the coil, it is able to support a plant pot of a type other than conventional which does not have a flange or is not conical in shape.
