Specification of'Letters Patent Patented Sept. 17,4907.
Application filed March 12,1907. Serial lira-362,032.
certain new and useful Improvements "inRecepta/cle :Holders, of which e following is a specification, res erence being had therein to theaccoinpanying drawing. This invention relates to receptacle lltlld GIS, and the invention has for its object to providea novel recepta l0 ;cle holder that can be suspended from a nail or book or supported upon a ledge: p r t My invention aims to provide a receptacle holder particularly dcsignedfor flower pots, the holder-being constructed wherebydt rnay be used in connection with a. window frame; and s wung to anydesired position, whereby a flower pot can be exposed to the sun light or swung awayfr'orn the window frame to prevent cold air entering the vvindow :irorn injuring a plant growing in a pothcld by my .irnproved holder; In this connection my irnproved holder while desig nedfor flower can b e readily used lor supporting vases, 3
jars, and for such purposes itis designed to support a flower pot or vase avv indow; where the ledge or sill oi the window is nq'tofsuflicient width to accommodate flower pots. To this'end, lily improved holder is constructed of ligh t and durable metaland provided with a frame for embracing the receptacle, and with a drip basin for receiving water that may drip irornthe bottom of a flower pot. In connection with the holder I can use'a novel bracket iort support'ing the holder upon 7 a window irame wherehyithe holder can he swung outside of theiwindow or a considerable distance upon the inside oi the window: although the bracket is not necessary when it is desired tosnpportthe holder upon A a t The detail construct en eringfghwfm invention" .will be hereinafter moreifullydescribed and then' spc cifically pointed o ut 'inthe .appended clain s and referring to the drawing forming part of this specification 40 like numerals 0i reference" d esignate corresponding parts throughout the "several views, in which z- Figure l is a perspective view impi'oved recepholder as suspended fro a wall or similar-support,"

standard 4 is provided with an inverted key hole shaped opening 5 :and the;t0ngue;3;with"a key-holeshape'd opening 6.
Secured to the'base or'hody portionl, andto the standard 4", is a hasketor holding-frame 7,coniprising side arms 8,- a circularframe 9, and brace 5111x158". The

in Fig. 1 ol thedravvings, 1lmvoillustrated a novel bracket 12 as being \1sed-td support/my improved holder, said bracket having pivoted arms 14 and 15, the latter being provided with a hookdo'adaptod to pass through'tho opening 5 oithe standard land support the holder in a horizontal position'. Asvillustrated in dotted lines ol Fig; 1'; the holder 'can beswung ouside' oi the window'or swung away irom the window whereby flowers supported within the holder can be exposed to the sunlight and-in the night swung away from the window to prevent the ilowcrst from:-being chilled or otherwise injured by cold air Thehncket not only dispenses with'tho handling of ariluy er pot, in orderto protect thetfiowjcr growingrthereingibutpermit's' oi a flower pot:being positionedin front of awindow that-could not otherwise supporta Vflo'wcr pot-ii the bracket were not used. l

V p, v -"From the iorogoixig'*descriptioifl, it will bc observed hat the holderf'cah be used in "numerous; waysand in numerous placesifor supporting flower potsiand while V M H p I V I have herein illustrated-tho holder asprovidcdvvith provided with'an outwardly extending tongue 3,1
adrip basin, it is obvious that this basin can-he readily dispensed with especially where the holder is simply used for vases and jardinieres. v
I do not care to confine myself to the size, properout departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as defined in the appended elaims.
What I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:
1. In 11. receptacle holder, the combination wlth a bracket having pivoted arms, one of said arms havinga hook, of a. holder consisting of a body portion haying a. countersunkportion, a standard carried by said body portion and having an opening formed therein adapted to receive said hook, said body portion having an opening formed therein, a wire lmsket carried by said bodyportion and standard and consisting of side arrns and a circular frame.
2. In :1 receptacle holder, 1!. base or body portion having a tongue projecting therefrom in a plane with said base or body portion and provided with an opening, and a standard rising trom the outer end of said tongue, and provided with an opening, substantially as described.
3. In a receptacle holder, abuse or body portion having a cen trail depr er] portion forming a drip pan, and having :1 projecting tong-lie provided with an opening, a.
standard risingfrom the outer end of th tongue and provided wit w an opening, anti 2]. wire basket secured to the base or body and to the standard. I 4. In a receptacle holder, a bnso'ol' body portion pr0- yided with a. central depressed portion forming a drip pan, and having a tongue projecting from the body portion an d provided with an opening, and a standard rising from the outer end of said tongue and provided with an \opening, substantially as described.
5. ina tlower pot holder, at base or body portion provided with a projecting tongue lying in a plane with said l'ht or 'body' portion and having an opening, a standard risin; from the base or body portion and provided-\vilh an opening. and a basket mounted on the base or body portion' and serured thereto and to'tlie standard.
