Abstract
373,050. Making meat tender. SEPULCHRE, C., 38, Rue de Charleroi, Nivelles, Belgium. Oct. 28, 1931, No. 29909. [Class 28 (ii).] A device for making meat tender comprises two rollers 4, 5 having projections or teeth, framework for supporting the rollers comprising two end frames formed from strip material bent into M shape and stiffening members 3, 11 joining the frames. The central portions of the end frames form bearing and steadying means for the rollers, the upper roller being journalled in depending arms 7 pivoted to a frame 8, having an operating handle 12 and pivoted at 9 to the bent ends 10 of the stiffening member 11. One bent end portion 10 is turned inwardly to act as a stop for the frame 8. The handle 13 is secured to one end of the upper roller. In operation, the rollers are separated for the insertion of the meat by swinging up the frame 8, and during the rotation of the handle 13 pressure is applied to the meat by the handle 12.
