Abstract
371,558. Rollers for combing-machines &c. HETHERINGTON & SONS, Ltd., J., TOMLINSON, A., and HEMSLEY, L., Vulcan Works, Pollard Street, Manchester. March 20, 1931, No. 8563. [Class 120 (ii).] The rollers of combing-machines and of other machines used in preparing fibres for spinning are provided with antifriction bearing units slidably fitting on the roller shaft, the bearing units being held in operative position by friction means. Each bearing unit comprises inner and outer sleeves 7, 9, Fig. 2, enclosing antifriction roller elements 11 between supporting rings 10, 12 the whole being slidable by hand on and off the shaft 5 and being secured by a grub-screw 13 which tightens the flange 8 on the shaft 5. Where the shaft 5 is plain, Fig. 3, the collar 15 is widened to receive a grub-screw 16.
