Abstract

393,744. Roller bearings for spinning- spindles. RANSOME & MARLES BEARING CO., Ltd., Stanley Works, and RICHARDSON, C. G. H., Cromwell House, Balderton, both in Newark-on-Trent. May 9, 1932, No. 13351. [Class 12 (i).] In a roller bearing for the spindles of spinning- machines, the rollers j have hemispherical or shaped ends n, i which engage annular grooves m, h in upper and lower bearing rings l, g spaced apart by a sleeve k. The rollers j bear directly on the spindle a which is readily inserted or removed. The annular grooves conform in cross section to the shape of the roller ends, which may also be of curved conical shape. The spacing member k may be formed integrally with either of the bearing rings l, g, or a portion of it may be formed integrally with each ring. The bearing is positioned in a cylindrical or bulbous-shaped enlargement c of the usual bolster b and retained by rolling over the upper edge o. Means may be provided to connect the bearing rings and the spacing member so that the bearing may be removed as a whole from the enlargement c.
