Abstract

371,082. Discharge lamps: electric condensers. BRETTMON, J., 226, Rue de Rivoli, Paris. Feb. 12, 1931, No. 4472. [Class 39 (i).] The presence of high-tension direct or alternating current lines is indicated by a luminous electric condenser the plates of which are formed by two gas columns C<1>, C<2> between which no communication exists. The columns are enclosed by glass tubes T<1>, T<2> fused one within another and each containing one electrode E, the tube T<2> forming the dielectric of the condenser. The tube is arranged at right-angles to the lines with the electrodes connected to the lines or with one electrode connected to one line and the other insulated or earthed. Alternatively, the tube is arranged near the lines with neither electrode connected thereto.
