[Class 138 (ii).] An electric iron has a switch mounted on it having a lever 6 projecting from the casing so that the act of turning the iron from the ironing position to a standing position moves the switch to the off position. When the iron leans back on the stand 12, the lever 6 is clear of the surface 13 on which the iron stands and the switch may be closed by means of a button 7.
