Press - button switches; switches, quick - action. - A switch adapted to be incorporated in a stand for an iron comprises a press-button b which is depressed by the weight of the iron, a spring c situated between a pin e on the button and one arm of a contact lever g, and a spring d situated between a pin f on the button and the base i. As the button is pressed down the spring c is compressed and the lever g held from movement by a spring h till it slips over the spring h and moves into the open position with a snap action. When the iron is lifted off the stand the spring d returns the parts to their original position.
