Abstract

473,428. Retractive switches. FRENCH, A. W. April 14, 1936, No. 10616. [Class 38 (v)] In an electric iron with a switch embodied in the handle 5, a spring controlled plunger 10 extending beyond the handle carries a contact 11 engaging fixed contacts 13, 14 except when the iron is resting in a vertical position with consequent depression of the plunger. The handle and its supports are moulded from synthetic resin. The plunger carries a peg 20 and is mounted in a hole provided with bayonet slots so that the switch may be manually fixed in the open or closed position.
