Abstract

370,762. Wireless receiving apparatus. HAZELTINE CORPORATION, 15, Exchange Place, Jersey City, New Jersey, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Wheeler, H. A. ; 18, Melbourne Road, Great Neck, Long Island, New York, U.S.A.) July 6, 1931, No. 19474. Convention date, Aug. 20, 1930. [Class 40 (v).] An input or intervalve coupling comprises a tunable secondary circuit LC and a primary circuit, resonant to a frequency slightly below the lowest operating frequency and comprising at least a portion L1 of the secondary winding, a fixed condenser C1, a fixed inductance L2, and an inductance L3 of relatively few turns coupled to the secondary winding. The windings L1, L3 are so arranged that their effects are additive on the secondary circuit so that any desired amplification, and preferably constant amplification, is obtained as the frequency is varied through the tuning range. The winding L3 may be used for neutralizing a following triode valve as described in Specification 222,895, [Class 40 (v), Wireless signalling &c.]. Specifications 273,639 and 315,399, [both in Class 40 (v), Wireless signalling &c.], are also referred to.
