Abstract

370,360. Valve amplifying circuits. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN 13D, Emmasingel, Eindhoven, Holland. Sept. 29, 1930, No. 29133. Convention date, Oct. 3, 1929. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 40 (v).] The grid bias for one stage of an amplifier is varied by grid currents occurring in the next stage. The grid current in the valve 6, Fig. 1, produces a potential drop in the resistance 4 connected in its grid circuit and shunted by a byepass condenser 5. The negative end of resistance 4 is connected through a resistance 8 to the grid end of a resistance 12 in the grid circuit of valve 1, also shunted by a byepass condenser 10. Thus overloading in the grid circuit of valve 6 is automatically corrected by an increase of negative bias on the grid of valve 1. In another arrangement the grids of valves 17, 18, 19, Fig. 3, of a cascade amplifier are joined together through resistances 24, 25, and separately connected through resistances 21, 22, 23 to the earthed cathodes.
