Abstract

370,335. Door-operating appliances. TEVES MASCHINENUND ARMATURENFABRIK GES., A., 23, Gustavsburgstrasse, Frankfort-on-Main, Germanv. Sept. 25, 1931, No. 26815. Convention date,-May 30. [Class 65 (i).] The main pistons 5, 9 for operating folding doors contain small inner pistons 7, 11 for commencing the opening and closing motions. Operation is effected by a hand-lever 1 which .is attached.to a rod 3 loosely connected to the pistons 7, 11. To close the doors the lever 1 is pulled over in the direction of the arrow a and a large fluid pressure is set up by the small piston 11. The pressure is transmitted by the fluid in passage 13, cylinder 8, conduit 16 to the piston 19 which operates the doors by a rack and pinion 20, 21 and linkwork 23, 25, 27 and 22, 24, 26. After the piston 11 has travelled a certain distance it comes into abutment with the large piston 9 through the collar 34. The subsequent movement of the large piston 9 compresses a larger quantity of fluid, and moves the piston 19 more quickly.
