Convention date, Feb. 25, 1930. Addition to 369,679. [Class 40 (v).] The parent Specification describes a method of producing an equi-signal " line " of radiation by swinging a directional transmitter backwards and forwards between two extreme positions and wholly or partially preventing radiation during the movement. The present invention provides means for so regulating the radiation during movement, that disturbing readings in a receiving instrument are substantially reduced or obviated. In one embodiment, Fig. 5, the radiating system S, E energized by a source D, on being swung through an angle switches resistances W1, W2, W3, &c. into the energizing circuit. In a second example, Fig. 6, a shutter S1 is moved into the path of the radiation to a variable extent as the rotation of the system occurs.
