[Class 81 (ii).] In a model of the jaws which may be equipped with teeth for use as an instructional model, or may be modified to serve as an articulator, the lower jaw h, together with its hinge pin k, is so arranged on a baseplate a as to be adjustable in all directions relative to the upper jaw d and to be secured. in adjusted position. The hinge pin k is mounted in a bracket n loosely surrounding two plates q, t formed with grooves v forming a bearing for the pin k. The plates q, t have large central apertures y, z through which passes a pin o. The plates together with the hinge pin and lower jaw may be moved in any direction but may be clamped in position by a nut w on the pin o. The upper jaw d may rock on a pin c connecting two lugs b extending from the base-plate a. A block f, sliding on the pin c but prevented from rotation by the rectangular bar e may be slid into such position that a lug g thereon engages the upper jaw d to lock it against movement about the pin c. A slide 11 working in a groove in the baseplate a normally supports the free end of the lower jaw h but may be moved forward so that the shoulder 12 thereon is beyond the outer end of the jaw, which is then free to rock about its hinge pin k. Pins 13, 14 on the slide 11 are adapted to enter notches 15, 17 on the bracket n and jaw h respectively to facilitate adjustment of the lower jaw.
