Abstract

256,010. Hallam, A. E. June 15, 1925. Teeth, artificial.-Relates to articulators with adjustable clamping devices for securing the plaster models as described in Specification 172,225, and consists mainly in providing the lower and upper members 1, 14 of the instrument with permanently or adjustably fixed gripping jaws 4, 15 and with adjustable jaws 5, 17 slidable but not rotatable on screw-threaded rods 3, 16 projecting from the members and carrying screw nuts 6, 18 to adjust the jaws 5, 17 thereon. The lower member 1 is formed with a preferably slotted upwardly projecting strip 7 to which a vertically adjustable slotted member 8 is secured by a bolt and nut 20. A projection 21 engages the slot to prevent relative rotation of the parts 7, 8. The member 8 is hinged at 9 to the slotted upper arm 10 of the articulator. A set-screw 11 adjustable in the arm 10 engages a recess 13 on a ledge 12 on the member 8. A bar 14 carrying the upper gripping jaws 15, 17 is secured to the slotted arm 10 by a screw and nut 19. In a modification, Fig. 5, the arm 10 is adjustable laterally by being mounted on a screw pin instead of a plain hinge pin, and may be locked in position by a nut 9a.
