Abstract

326,920. Wilson, J. E. Jan. 14, 1929. Teeth, artificial.-In a dental articulator, the casts are fixed in position by drill points attached to screws working in fixed brackets, and relative movements of the casts are made by means of slides and screws. The articulator comprises a triangular base A formed with an upright bracket at each corner for screwed drill points B, C which hold a lower cast. An upright E carrying the holder for the upper cast slides in a socket attached to the base A, and it can be raised by means of a screw F passing through brackets F1, F2 attached to the upright and socket respectively. The upper cast is held between three screws B1, C1 in brackets on a member H1 slidable in a groove in a. member G, and adjustable in position therein by a screw H which passes through brackets H2, G2 on the members HI, G respectively. This member G is pivoted on a pin carried between bosses on the upright E, ana it can be rotated about them and its position registered by a screw K which passes through the upright E and bears on a bracket L attached to the slide G. Movement of the upper cast in and out of the plane of the paper is effected by turning the unit J which is threaded on a screwed end I of the pivot pin, and which has a flange engaging in a slot in the upright E to prevent it moving with the pin. To insert a lower cast, it is held with the centre mark touching the drill B and, after a hole has been made in the cast by this drill, the other points C are screwed in. The upper cast is placed in position on the lower, the member G lowered, and the drill points B1, C1 screwed in.
