Abstract

Copying. - Pantographic apparatus for drawing, carving, modelling, &c. comprises a tracing arm l mounted on a carrier k to which are pivoted two arms i, j of unequal lengths, the other ends of which are pivoted to a link g forming the top member of a parallel motion device consisting of four links d - - g pivoted together. The link d is mounted on a pivot pin c on a base plate a and the link f carries the pencil &c. h. The drawing board n is mounted in a block m which is hinged to the base a, a handle o being provided for moving the board into or out of engagement with the pencil. For modelling, the pencil is replaced by a drill and the linkage is arranged to be rotatable about an horizontal axis in the plane of the Figure.
