Abstract
368,266. Pile walls. COSTES, C. M. P., 135, Avenue Victor Hugo, Paris. Nov. 28, 1930, No. 35855. Convention date, Dec. 6, 1929. [Class 68 (ii).] A buttressed pile wall is formed by joining flat sheet-piles and similar piles bent so that the parts are in planes at rightpr acute angles. The Figure shows such a wall comprising flat piles 2 and acute-angled sections 1 arranged so that certain planes at rightangles to the face of the wall cut a plurality of units. The re-entrant parts A may be filled with cement or concrete. Similar buttresses may be formed by right-angled sections 1, and may have the section of an open-trough, or of a culvert nearly closed at the top.
