Abstract
367,245. Rectifying alternating currents. IGRANIC ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., 147, Queen Victoria Street, London.- (Cutler-Hammer Manufacturing Co. ; Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A.) May 4, 1931, No. 13094. [Class 38 (ii).] In supplying an electromagnet 1 with direct current from an alternating currensource L1, L2, a recti fier 2 is connected in series with the load, and a second rectifier 5 is connected in shunt therewith in such direction as to form an effective shunt path during the half-cycles in which the first rectifier is nonconducting. The rectifiers may be of the thermionic, or dry contact, or electrolytic type.
