366,777. Fluid-operated valves. WENDER, E., 62A, Leipzigerstrasse, Frankfort-on-Main, Germany. March 20, 1931, No. 8693. [Class 135.] A liquid-heater gas valve actuated by a diaphragm acted upon by the flowing water has several separately loaded steps placed one after the other. As shown a valve rod 8 controlled by pressure fluid on a diaphragm 3 carries a valve disc 17 loaded by a spring 20. The disc controls openings 16 in a valve member 15 slidable on the spindle 8 and covering an aperture 14 in the casing 9. The member 15 is loaded by a spring 19 and the springs 19, 20, are adjusted by screws 22, 21. For small pressures on the diaphragm 3 corresponding to a small amount of liquid drawn from the heater the smaller valve step 17 only is opened. As the amount of liquid drawn off increases the continued movement of the spindle 8 causes an adjustable cam 18 thereon to move the valve member 15 and uncover the aperture 14, the apertures 16 still remaining open. The openings 14, 16, are closed in the reverse order.
