Abstract

366,746. Jigging conveyers. ANDERSON BOYES & CO., Ltd. and SHIELD, J. B., Flemington Electrical Works, Motherwell, Lanarkshire. Feb. 26, 1931, No. 5981. [Class 78 (i).] Driving gear which is adapted to be housed within a confined gear box occupying minimum head room and contrived to effect a substantial movement of the reciprocatory member, comprises a unidirectionally rotating driving shaft 1, a crank shaft 2, reduction gear 13 .. 16 between the shafts 1, 2, a rock shaft 3 deriving oscillatory movements from the shaft 2, a final oscillatory member 4 wrapped by, or connected to, a tension rope, or ropes, connected to the conveyer, and multiplying gearing 9, 8 between the shaft 3 and the shaft 5 of the member 4. When a single rope is used, its opposite ends are connected to spaced points on the conveyer, and the rope is wrapped round the member 4, but when two ropes are used, the ends of each of them are connected to the conveyer and member 4 at spaced points. A crank pin 10 on the shaft 2 is connected by a rod 11 to an arm 12 on the shaft 3.
