366,297. Pipe couplings. BLAKEBOROUGH, R. A. and KLOUMAN, F. A., Woodhouse Works, Brighouse, Yorkshire. Feb. 18, 1931, No. 5091. [Class 99 (i).] In a hose-pipe coupling a socketb carries a number of spring-pressed pawls e having inclined faces el which are engaged by a collar a<2> on the spigot a to depress the pawls, which spring out behind the collar to retain the spigot. For disconnection a sleeve g is moved towards the socket and rotated so that projections g<1> engage the curved inner faces e<2> of the pawls and move them back into the recesses d. A cup - leather packing ring c is provided in the socket adjacent the tapered surface a<1> of the spigot.
