Abstract

366,142. Shop blinds. ADAMS, J. S., 3, Emerald Street, London. Nov. 1, 1930, No. 32937. [Class 52 (v).] In a roller blind type of awning operated from a distance, a push is applied to the front lath 5 of the awning at the initial stage of unwinding by means coming into operation to tension the blind when the latter is nearly fully wound. The preferred construction utilizes spring - pressed plungers 32 at each end of the lath, or where a vacuum system conveyer device is used the plungers may be arranged to be retracted by connection to the vacuum system, the winding gear is such as will not overrun and may embody endless chains 9, 15 and a worm drive 21. According to the Provisional Specification the blind roller can be actuated electrically under the control of automatic cut-outs.
