Abstract

366,086. Valve amplifying circuits. CONSTABLE, F. H., St. Johns, Cashio Lane, Letchworth, Hertfordshire, and RADIOVISOR PARENT, Ltd., 28, Little Russell Street, London. Oct. 24, 1930, No. 32065. [Class 40 (v).] In a talking picture installation selectively using either a photo-electric cell or a gramophone pick-up as a source of voice currents, a shaping amplifier is switched in when the source is a photo-electric cell. The output of cell 1 is applied to the grid of valve V<1> through condenser C<1> and grid leak R<4>. The coupling between valves V<1>, V<2> comprises a transformer T<1 >having resistances R<5>, R<6> and inductance L connected in series across its secondary. The common point of resistances R<5>, R<6> is connected to the grid of V<2> and the coupling favours the higher frequencies owing to the increase of impedance of L with frequency. The cell 1 and anodes of the valves are fed through resistances from a common source, and grid bias for valve V<2> is obtained by the use of series-connected heaters.
