Abstract
365,646. Clock and watch cases. BAUMGARTNER, F., 13, CoulouvreniÞre, Geneva, Switzerland. Oct. 24, 1930, No. 31991. [Class 139.] A timepiece, wherein a watch or clock is housed in an outer casing 1 with a sliding lid 2 and is raised out of the case by a spring when the lid is open, is characterized by means 5 attached to the lid which in one position allow the lid to be assembled on the casing and in another position prevent complete withdrawal of the lid. The outer casing 1 has guides 3 on which slides the lid 2 which carries two hinged members 5, which are pressed to one side to place the lid on the case and afterwards take up the position shown in Fig. 3 to prevent complete withdrawal of the lid. The watch or clock 4 is spring-hinged at 10 to a plate 9 which is inserted in a channelled member 8 on the case 1 before the lid is attached. In a modification, Figs. 6 and 7, the watch 4 is spring- hinged at 11, 12 to a removable frame 13 having a groove 15 which is inserted under an edge 16 of the outer case, the other end of the frame being pressed down against the action of a blade spring 18 attached to it. The lid 2 is then slid on the case 1 and the frame released, whereupon lugs 19 thereon coact with shoulders 20 on the lid to prevent complete withdrawal of the latter.
