Abstract
378,160. Watch cases. HUGUENIN, G., 32, Bellevue, Le Locle, Switzerland. June 29, 1931, No. 18709. [Class 139.] A watch case comprises portions 3, 4 adapted to slide on the frame 2 carrying the time movement, by means of ridges 7, 8 engaging grooves 5, 6, springs 9, or alternatively a tensioned blade spring, preferably separated from the ridge 7, by a small tongue (not shown) inserted in the groove 5. Abutments 24 on members 22, 23 slidable in grooves 26, 27 on the frame 2, are forced by a spring 20 mounted on a rod 21, Fig. 3, against the inside of portions 3, 4 to absorb any play, and co-operate with shoulders 25 thereon to prevent complete removal thereof from frame 2. Nose parts 28 of members 22, 23 engage snail cams 29, the heads 30 of which are slotted that they may be easily turned to displace the members against the action of spring 20 when the portion 3 or 4 is to be completely removed. An easel leg 10 is fixed by a screw 11 to an axle 12 rotatably mounted in the back of frame 2, and is urged to assume the position shown in Fig. 3 by a spring 14 connected to a lever 13 fixed to axle 12. When the case is closed, reinforced parts 17 on the inner edges of the halves 3, 4 engage with the inclined slopes of the easel reinforcements 16, thereby rotating the easel leg against the action of spring 14 to a position parallel to the frame 2 when the halves 3, 4 may be pressed together.
