Feb. 7, 1931, No. 3906. [Class 80 (i).] Means for operating a windscreen cleaner 1 comprise a carriage 2 having a pair of pivotallymounted cams 12 with serrated edges for gripping an endless band 5 which is driven by an electric motor. The cams are linked together and are adapted to engage stops 15 whereby one cam is disengaged from one stretch of the endless band and the other cam is engaged with the other stretch at the end of each traverse of the wiper so as to reverse its motion. The cams may be replaced by a single cam or other frictional gripping means.
