Aug. 21, 1931, No. 23594. Convention date, Aug. 21, 1930. [Class 39 (i).] The cathode spot is located by means of a ring which is made of ceramic material, such as quartz, porcelain, or fireclay, and is composed of segments secured together by metallic rings. The segments may be formed with interengaging tongues and grooves, Fig. 2, or of overlapping curved plates b, Fig. 4, held in iron channel-shaped rings, or of curved segments c, Fig. 6, assembled to form two rings.
