Abstract

363,269. Roller - and - breast mills. PILOT, I. H., 25, Cleveland Road, Brighton. April 22, 1931, No. 11945. [Class 59.] In a mill for crushing coke &c. the breast plate 6 is supported on a member 8 which is not exposed to wear, the breastplate being in slidable engagement with the member by means of co-operating projections and recesses so that the plate may be renewed or reversed. The member 8 is pivoted on a bar 10 and adjusted by a rod 11 the amount of displacement being indicated on a graduated bar 15. The member is provided with open-ended slots in which is engaged a T-head 18, Fig. 4, formed on the back of the breast plates 6, the open end of the slots being bridged by members 20. A ledge 9 is formed on the bottom of the member against which the plates 6 abut, these plates may be in several parts with curved ends 21. The roller 2 may comprise a single line of chisel-toothed members detachably mounted on a square-sectioned shaft 3.
