[Class 78 (i)] [See also Group I] The hopper 3 of a worm press, which has a charging chamber 1 with a charging worm 2, is laterally offset towards the downwardly moving side of the worm and the width of the hopper is greater than half of the radius of the worm. The effective cross-section of the hopper can be varied by means of a slide 5 with an inclined upper surface 6. A rotary feeding- member with blades may be provided in the hopper.
