Abstract

361,441. Electrically-actuated valves. MUSGRAVE, J. L. and CRITTALL & CO., Ltd., R., 43, Bloomsbury Square, London. Aug. 27, 1930, No. 25543. [Class 135.] An electromagnetically actuated valve adapted for use in thermostaticallv controlled heating systems comprises a multiple-beat closure member B .. B<3> opened by gravity and closed in two stages by two electro. magnets or solenoids E, E<1>. When the solenoid E<1> is ener. gized the plunger F partly closes the valve, the two uppet closure elements B, B' being then slightly more open than the lower closure elements B<2>, B<3>. The solenoid E may be energized subsequently, or simultaneously, to complete the closure of the valve.
