Abstract

361,434. Bookbinding. ELLIOTT, W. E. and TINLING & CO., Ltd., C., Victoria Printing Works, Victoria Street, Liverpool. Aug. 26, 1930, No. 25409. [Class 16.] In a book in which several sections or parts &c. are bound in the covers, a number of tongues or flanges are provided on the interior of the covers 1 between which the back portions of the sections are entered and secured. Continuous longitudinal channels 4, having fastening or securing tongues or partitions 5, are formed by folding a piece 3 of previously creased or scored strong paper or other material so that adjacent folded parts lie one upon the other as shown and are secured together by adhesive. Margins 6 of the strip 3 extend over the inner portions of the inside of the covers. The strip 3 is gummed to a piece 7 of textile or other material which is gummed to the inside of the covers 1 adjacent the back 2. Instead of being continuous longitudinally, the projecting tongues 5 may be spaced apart. End-papers 8 may be secured to the outer chanuel partitions.
